dk was conceptualized in early September, 2005, while driving down a back road west of Jackson, Mississippi while evacuated for Hurricane Katrina.  With Will Hoge's During the Before and After pouring out of the speakers, the feelings of anger, desperation and frustration with all that we had seen on the television led to the idea - we'll form a production company and do a benefit concert.  From there, everything snowballed.... bands came on board, venue jumped at us, print and television news media pounced, and the music flowed.  Three years and multiple events later, we have expanded well beyond our expected life cycle and each day move forward to enhance the lives of those who attend, volunteer, perform at or sponsor any of our events.
